The Environment

One of the basic premises of sustainable development is the incorporation of environmental criteria in economic processes, thereby enabling the viability of regions and the preservation of natural resources and
assets.

In the late eighties, profound transformations of an economic, political and social nature took place, which were to pose a new future model of environmental equilibrium. In this context, in 1987 we established an environmental department to provide consultancy, engineering, technical advice and management services to meet the demand created by the requirements of new environmental policies, which from this time onward began to be implemented and developed.

The Solution

By growing and maturing to keep pace with the developments of the environmental industry, we have maintained a dynamic edge which enables us to assimilate continuous modernisation processes, and we currently occupy a leading position among companies in the sector. Quality, a high technical level, the application of the latest technology and respect for the environment are the hallmarks which enable us to ensure the satisfaction of our clients. Our commitment and our loyalty have led to the development of new lines of activity within the environmental division.

The Water Cycle

The comprehensive management of water and the protection of this resource is of primordial importance in a society in which its demand continues to increase. Water management is becoming increasingly complicated, in light of the need to balance ecological, socio-economic and cultural aspects. We offer a multi-sectorial approach to works carried out relating to the water cycle, providing a wider view which takes into account not only purely hydraulic issues but also those of an ecological, territorial or socioeconomic nature and citizen participation.

The correct assessment of water resources for urban, industrial and agricultural activity is one of the first steps for adequate water management, whether derived from the surface or subterranean sources, as it enables an estimation of productivity and the due management of the same. Water is an increasingly scarce resource and requires specific studies to assess its availability and vulnerability to any economic activities which may be established.

Environmental studies and reports

Legal requirements in the environmental ambit have marked the development of companies and professionals in this sector, to the extent that they have become the main guideline for the environmental industry.

This legislation increases the demand for technology to reduce the emission of contaminants and prevention and environmental monitoring tasks. This implies greater complexity in terms of the studies, reports and analyses necessary to obtain authorisations and permits for certain economic activities either presently existing or pending establishment.

Through our consultancy service we draw on the experience we have acquired to offer the following:

  • Analyses of the environmental effects caused by different economic and industrial activities.
  • Environmental diagnoses.
  • Studies regarding the viability of various actions of a technical, economic and environmental nature.
  • Action plans with the corresponding corrective measures.
  • Drafting of the documentation necessary for environmental procedures and monitoring.

Management of the Natural and Urban Environment

Recent environmental policies have created a new setting for the management and conservation of natural heritage. On the one hand, the authorities have initiated programmes for the restoration of deteriorated ecosystems. Furthermore, together with the planning and execution of infrastructures, protective and corrective measures have been incorporated to prevent the deterioration of the environment.

The study of areas damaged by human activity and the definition and proposal of corrective measures is another of our fields of activity.

In particular, we have acquired extensive experience in the planning and monitoring of the execution of the necessary protective and corrective measures for the construction of major infrastructures in sensitive sites such as protected nature reserves.
