Incorporating environmental criteria into economic processes that enable the viability of regions and preserve natural resources and values is the premise of sustainable development.

At the end of the eighties, profound economic, political and social transformations took place that were rethinking the future within a model of environmental equilibrium. In this context was born, in 1987, the area of environmental protection to provide consulting services, engineering, technical advice and management, in response to the demands of the new environmental policies.

The solution

Growing and maturing at the same pace as the environmental industry has given us great dynamism to face the continuous modernization processes that are still generated in the sector, currently occupying a position of business leadership. The quality, the high technical level, the application of the latest technologies and the respect for the environment guarantee the satisfaction of our customers.

Our commitment and their loyalty have driven the opening of new lines of activity within the environmental division.

Habitats and species

This work would not be possible without the close collaboration that Grupo IG maintains with prestigious research centres and universities, such as Estación Biológica de Doñana (CSIS), Instituto de Ciencias Marinas de Andalucía, (CSIS) Universidad de Sevilla, Universidad Pablo de Olavide de Sevilla, Universidad de Córdoba. One of the most important projects is the improvement of habitat for the introduction and expansion of the populations of the Iberian Lynx, one of the most endangered species in the world, in Sierra Morena (Spain).

Studies and research

Among the scientific studies carried out by Grupo IG are those carried out with the University of Cordoba on butterflies, ants and endangered flora in Sierra Morena (Spain).

Other actions have been carried out to improve the habitats of endangered species
of extinction, such as the construction of 62 sheets of water to improve amphibian habitat and the placement of nest boxes.
